A Junior Paralegal performs substantive tasks to assist our paralegal and attorney teams in preparation at every stage of the litigation process from case inception to completion (initial pleading, factual discovery, expert discovery, pre-trial, trial and post-trial/appellate stages).
Responsibilities*:
- Assist with the preparation, service, and court filings of motions and briefs
- Organize and create binders and files of case and other documents
- Assist with preparation for trial through the preparation and organization of legal documents and binders, trial exhibits and demonstratives, travel, food, and hotel logistics, and other items as needed
- Assist with preparation for witness interviews, depositions, and/or client meetings
- Organize and manage electronic and paper files, including by making case chronologies and organizing and cataloging documents provided in litigation
- Perform manual and electronic searches using internal and external databases
- Provide assistance on additional projects as assigned
*Paralegals are required to track and record their time on an hourly basis as their work is billed to firm clients on an hourly basis.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook Suite
- Proficiency in online research and internet resources
- The ability to navigate various electronic databases and document repositories
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
- The ability to travel, as necessary
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- The ability to work well independently, as well as effectively within a team
This is a non-exempt position and the entry-level annual salary for this role is $62,000. This salary reflects estimated base salary. Total cash compensation will be higher when factoring in year-end bonus and benefits.
