Faith Gay has been honored by the Office of the Appellate Defender, and will be receiving the Gould Award for Outstanding Oral Advocacy at the 26th Annual First Monday in October Gala. This prestigious award is presented annually to two of the most distinguished oral advocates in the nation in honor of the legendary advocate Milton S. Gould. Faith has been specially honored with this award for her outstanding record of advocacy over the course of her career. At the First Monday in October Gala, she will be featured in a Mock Supreme Court Argument, opposite her fellow Gould Award recipient the Honorable John Gleeson of Debevoise & Plimpton, in the matter of Altitude Express, Inc. v. Zarda, a case that asks whether Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.
