Selendy Gay Shortlisted for Chambers USA Awards 2024

Chambers and Partners has shortlisted Selendy Gay and partner Lauren Zimmerman for two Chambers USA Awards.

Partner Lauren Zimmerman was shortlisted in the DEI: Outstanding Contribution category, which recognizes a partner who has shown an outstanding contribution across multiple strands of DEI in the legal profession. The shortlisting recognizes Lauren’s commitment to advocating for justice and equity through her commercial and pro bono work, mentoring at Selendy Gay, and her community involvement and leadership within organizations including Out Leadership, Human Rights Campaign, and Access Justice Brooklyn.

Selendy Gay was once again shortlisted for Outstanding Firm: Pro Bono, an award the firm won in 2022. Notable pro bono work recognized by Chambers includes recent victories in both the Second Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court in the firm’s five ongoing rent stabilization cases, and the firm’s representation of the authors of And Tango Makes Three, a widely lauded children’s book that conveys a positive message about same-sex parents and their families, and that has been removed and restricted in Florida school districts based on the state’s “Don’t Say Gay” law.
