Partner Temidayo Aganga-Williams served as a panelist at the first event of Furman University’s StraightTalk 2023 series, “Our Fragile Democracy.” The event, entitled “How We Got Here: The Weakening of Democracy in America,” explored the trends that brought American democracy to its present, critical state.
Aganga-Williams, who served as senior investigative counsel for the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol, participated in a Q&A about the circumstances that surrounded the storming of the building. A video of his panel discussion is embedded above.
The event also featured Mike McConnell, who served as director of the National Security Agency from 1992 to 1996 and U.S. director of national intelligence from 2007 to 2009. Danielle Vinson, a professor of politics and international affairs at Furman University, moderated the discussion.
