Selendy Gay is proud to announce that Lauren Zimmerman has been named a partner of the firm, effective January 1, 2023.
“Lauren is a tremendous advocate for her clients, and a fierce and strategic litigator. She is also a thoughtful colleague, a compassionate mentor, and a passionate firm leader,” said Maria Ginzburg, managing partner of Selendy Gay. “We are thrilled to welcome her to our partnership.”
Lauren Zimmerman is an experienced litigator who has worked on several trial teams, and whose practice includes complex civil litigation, class actions, and white-collar criminal defense, including corporate and regulatory internal investigations. Notably, Lauren was a part of the team that represented members of the American Federation of Teachers in a successful suit brought by a class of public servants against student loan servicer Navient; McKinsey in the Southern District of Texas as part of a multi-jurisdiction litigation against Jay Alix, founder of Alix Partners; and Vote Solar, a clean energy nonprofit organization, in a precedent-setting case before the Utah Public Service Commission to demonstrate the environmental, social, and economic benefits of solar energy and the importance of properly compensating rooftop solar energy users in the state.
Before joining Selendy Gay, Lauren was a trial lawyer with Brooklyn Defender Services where she successfully represented clients in a wide range of hearings and trials. She holds a J.D., magna cum laude, from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Ursula Ungaro in the Southern District of Florida, and is an active member of the National LGBT Bar Association.
