Selendy Gay Names Three New Partners

Selendy Gay is proud to announce the elevation of three new partners, effective January 1, 2025: Meredith Nelson, Claire O’Brien, and Julie Singer.

“Meredith, Claire, and Julie have demonstrated their talents as outstanding litigators and exceptional leaders,” said Maria Ginzburg, managing partner. “We are delighted to welcome them to the partnership.”

All three partners are litigators who have helped lead the firm’s trial teams to significant victories. Their experience advising both plaintiffs and defendants includes complex commercial matters, bankruptcy-related litigation, and corporate governance disputes.

  • Meredith Nelson helped secure a $1.1 billion trial victory for Fortis Advisors in a merger earnout dispute against Johnson & Johnson on behalf of the former shareholders of Auris Health. She also currently defends SaveOnSP, which offers cost-saving copay assistance strategies for self-funded employers, against a suit brought by Johnson & Johnson.
  • Claire O’Brien represented a venture capital firm and its founders in a winning arbitration against former investors, and defended Bloq, a blockchain provider, against allegations related to its crypto token. She currently represents the Governor of New York in multiple matters and advises Assured Investment Management in a Chapter 15 adversary proceeding.
  • Julie Singer also helped secure the $1.1 billion trial victory against J&J. She currently represents U.S. Bank in mortgage-backed securities litigation. She will serve as lead counsel in a jury trial in New York state court anticipated for 2025. Previously, she represented foreign liquidators in Chapter 15 proceedings seeking billions in recoveries.

These promotions bring the firm to 20 partners and more than 60 associates, all focused on litigation, arbitration, and investigations.
