Partner Lauren Zimmerman was featured in the inaugural Chambers and Partners Global Report for “Next Level Mentoring.” In this profile, Lauren shares her experience with co-launching The Social Club, a social and professional networking group for queer female and other individuals in New York City that has grown to more than 200 members since it was founded in 2023.
Lauren and her co-founders started the group after recognizing the city’s lack of social and professional organizations for these communities. “Even though we hail from different professions, family structures and backgrounds, our social, personal, and intellectual commonalities turn these gatherings into a wonderful blend of camaraderie, networking, and knowledge sharing,” Lauren stated.
Lauren was shortlisted by Chambers earlier this year in the “Outstanding Contribution” category and selected for the 2024 Benchmark Litigation “40 & Under Guide.” Her current work includes groundbreaking litigation in the fight against book banning on behalf of the authors of And Tango Makes Three, a widely lauded children’s book that conveys a positive message about same-sex parents and their families.
Chambers Reports identify the top trends and pro bono initiatives and aim to provide inspiration and guidance on how to create successful initiatives.
